2016 작가노트

ㅡ 비닐 위에 투사한 사람이야기 ㅡ

Vinyl의 투명하고 불완전한 막, 그 너머로 굴절되며 변형된 또 하나의 새로운 공간이 보인다. 일상 속, 사람의 뚜렷한 윤곽은 그 안에서 실루엣으로 드러나며, 유약한 존재로 비쳐 온다. 그것은 현대의 도시사회에서 찾아 볼 수 있는, 삶의 언저리에 놓여있는 인간의 모습이다. 이런 이미지를 표현하기 위해 쉽게 찢어지며, 마치 사람의 피부 같은 느낌을 주는 종이테이프를 뜯고, 붙여가면서 인체를 드로잉 하였다.정형(定形)과 변형(變形)으로 인체를 화면에 배치하는 과정에서 뜯기고 구겨지면서 나타나는 종이테이프 자체의 우연한 형상과 적갈색 계열의 색채를 덧입히고 흘리면서 이런 작업과정을 통해 이미지를 강화하였다. 인체를 해체되고 단절된 torso 형태로 설정하여 집중하려 했다. 그런 형태 속에서 현대인의 내면세계가 상징적으로 표출되기를 의도해 보았다. 비닐화면을 여러 겹으로 배치하여 공간의 실제적 깊이에 대해 질문하려고 화면을 연출하면서, 겹쳐진 토르소 형태의 집합에서 인간들의 여러 이야기와 꿈이 전달되기를 기대했다.

ㅡ The stories projected onto vinyl ㅡ

When the vinyl, which is a transparent and incomplete layer, is used, it is refracted over another variant of the new space. The clear outline of the silhouette of human beings in everyday life is reflected within, as vulnerable beings. It is the aspect of human beings which lies in a life that can be found on the fringes of modern urban society. In order to express this type of aspect of human beings, the artist draws the figure using paper tapes, which could be easily torn apart as well as contribute the feeling of human skin, by tearing and pasting it on the vinyl.
